Dear Woody,

This pic of Woody Allen popped up on WWD last week, and it immediately sent us running for the DVD’s. We watched Manhattan and Annie Hall back to back. Two all time Woody classics! It seems too easy to call him a genius, but he is! The casting, music, dialogue and beautiful shot set ups all point to genius. He is a walking “genre”. So influential on Lover, and poular culture in general.

( Christopher Walken & Woody Allen. I could watch this over and over. I've used the line “I’m due back on planet earth” too many times to mention.)

After watching those two films we got into a debate as to whether we should move backwards to “Play It Again Sam” or forwards to “Husbands and Wives / Hannah & Her Sisters” territory. And the retrospective stalled. We made a promise that we would finally watch “Interiors” this week. It’s the one Woody Allen film sitting there unwatched. It's a tad intense.
