After seeing Heather Locklear's mug shot splashed across the front page of every newspaper yesterday. It reminded us at Lover HQ how much better celebs can look in these kinds of pics.

I think it's the fact that they are always shot all natural, no fuss, and with a dazed and confused - bad ass attitude. Which seems so refreshing when compared to the wax works red carpet styling we so often see them in.

These kinds of photos are so potent, because they are taken with such bare bones apparatus and no artistic perspective or training, and yet they can capture cultural turning points.

I would LOVE to purchase original prints from any of the pics below. Ebay are you hearing me?

Every now and then we like to introduce you to members of the Lover family. And Miss Martha, is our sponsor child from Ghana. She favours the oversize tunic look and is a total talent with crayons and doll making.

In terms of sending her presents you can only give her simple things like stickers. And even though you really want to send her a box of Golden Books and a full Crayola rainbow set. Apparently it would blow her mind and make the other kids in the village jealous.

So basically everyone needs to start sponsoring a child, so a) You can help to eradicate disease and poverty from their lives, and b) then every kid will be looked after and we can begin to send them something more exciting than stickers.

It's seriously no more than a dollar a day, and the impact you can have on the childs life is amazing. Click here to sponsor a child.

This image was captured by Mark Hunter backstage at Herve Leger last night. So THAT's how you get in and out of those dresses. I don’t wanna even know what the extension cord is for. Rock on Body Con!

On Friday night we were lucky enough to witness the shambolic brilliance of The Brian Jonestown Massacre. They haven't been here since 2004, and in between that time a little known documentary called "Dig!" catapulted the band and it's music to the level of notoriety they deserve.

Although the leader and creator of the band Anton Newcombe dismisses the film, it did serve to create his cult of personality, and I would say is a major reason why they are currently on a SOLD OUT tour of Australia.

I am a true fan of collage and re-contextualisation. Marcel Duchamp, Andy Warhol and early Hip Hop excelled at this. More recently Anton Newcombe, along with other greats such as Bobby Gillespie and Jack White have made amazing music, using this technique. The trick is to not fall hook line and sinker for a genre or image.

The Brian Jonestown Massacre sound like something from the past and something beamed in from the future. Their songs will stand the test of time. They will influence people to start bands, start fights or fall in love. The gig was full of groove, antagonism, pysch droning synths, tambourines and a sense of hope.

Having to work overtime on a Saturday, can be an absolute buzzkill. That’s why when our Studio Assistant Melissa whipped out these Magic Muffin Mushrooms, complete with freshly crushed maltesers, we completely forgot where we were.
