After seeing Patti Smith perform last night, I have come to the conclusion that
A) I will never again witness people dancing in the aisles and rushing towards the front of the stage at the Sydney Opera House.
B) Hearing “Gloria” performed with the same intensity and heart as when she recorded it 33 years ago, is one of the happiest moments of my life.
C) Any concert that has “Exile On Main Street” playing through the speakers during the intermission, is a good place to start for any gig.
D) The way she captured us with such a geniuine sense of artistic integrity and love for her audience and music, made it possibly the best concert we have ever seen.
p.s.: This is still one of my favourite youtubes of all time.
A dear member of our Lover family recently passed away.
The beautiful Natalie “Nat Sats” Sattler - Esposito, who worked with us as our in house patternmaker up until January this year, was such a vital and positive force, not only in the office but to everyone she came into contact with.
She didn’t really like the internet and wore funny “nanna” glasses while she worked, which always made us laugh. But her calm spirit and inner strength was so inspiring, that she will always be a part of our lives.
Lots of love, hugs and kisses…
Susien, Nic and the whole Lover team.

The other day we were cleaning out the pre digital "photos cupboard", and came across this piece of Lover history.
It’s a photo from our market stall back in 2001!
The friends in the photo are Linlee Allen and Skye Mcrae. After a couple of weeks at the markets, Skye told me to bring in some pieces and, on the sly, she would show them to the Vogue editors visiting the showroom she worked in. They borrowed, they shot, and the rest they say is history. At the same time Linlee was working for a fashion style web site, that pretty much resembled what we now call a “blog”. She would always write bits and pieces about Lover, and really got the word out there.
Skye now works at RVCA as the global marketing director. She created the whole Erin Wasson X RVCA collab, and Linlee has her own streetstyle blog and writes for Style.com. All we were concerned about the day this photo was taken, was keeping out of the sun and where we should all go for dinner. Take me back.
