Okay, so before Rod Stewart became an ageing casino crooner and cornball song writer. He was part of one of the best, blues/ boogie/ rock bands ever, THE FACES. They were such a bunch of street fighting rag tag ragamuffins with chops and groove, that the Rolling Stones poached from them.
Sadly the influential band spilt after only 4 albums. Guitarist Ronnie Wood would move on to become Keith Richards partner in crime, and drummer Kenney Jones joined the Who. It left a legacy that would inspire people such as Steve Jones from the Sex Pistol, and you can all join the dots from there.
These clips are one of those 'Youtube' moments where I bless the people who uploaded them, because Ive been trying to track down these live tracks for years, since I lost my old VHS bootleg copy. So 'Kanyonman52' and 'Tootall4u286' (whoever you are.) we at Lover salute you. Enjoy.
